Description

The weekend of Tour de Fat, dress up in some Summery finery and join us as we roll and stroll to the picnic grounds!

This time around, the BBC will be sharing a blanket with the Slow Bicycle Society and the Velo Francais, so it promises to be a big group, with some Continental flair!

Route is now done! I chose something short, sweet, and shady, as this is a Chicago Summer, so it's either going to be blazing hot or rainy.

UPDATE!!!!

Switched from Archies (which doesn't open till 6pm - losers!) to Blind Robin, just a few blocks east of there, on Western. They're already been warned =)

I just came up with a great idea! Unfortunately my sewing machine and spare fabric are packed with the rest of my apartment.

Make a pannier cover for my open grocery getter pannier.  It would just be a strip of material with velro on 2 sides and put some velcro on the pannier.  Maybe for next time.

I have sent an open invitation to my fellow Wheelmen friends for this ride.. According to rumors, we might total up to 8 with bells and buglers on this Sunday.

"you might want to bring a folding chair or mat (yoga mat = perfect) or blankets to sit on, since it's concrete, not grass."

Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm attempting to bring some seating and a table for our picnic in the elegant shade of the Humboldt Boathouse, but you might want to bring a folding chair or mat (yoga mat = perfect) or blankets to sit on, since it's concrete, not grass.
