No, this isn't about coming to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
It's about riding to Three Floyds and boosting our cognitive function every month this year! There's a somewhat consistent schedule -- usually the 4th Saturday of the month -- and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.
The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.
42 miles total if to return you ride to Hammond and take the South Shore Line, 45 miles total if you ride to Flossmoor Station and take the Metra, 50 if you ride to 93rd and take the Metra or to 100th and take the J14, 55 if you ride to 71st and take the J14, 70 if you ride all the way. 14-17 mph. I like to get there before they open at 11:00 (it's still the fourth-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, lights since the day is short, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.
Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, conversation about this ride, Metra Electric train schedules, Jeffrey Jump (J14) bus schedule, Bikes on the Metra, Bikes on the Bus, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

brad, next time!
steve, thanks for braving the elements with me!
"Peeks of sunshine later."
if anybody wants to ride back, i'll go along. more is better when fighting a wind. just have to leave enough time.
i'm thinking about it! also because we have 6:00 dinner reservations.
Considerable wind from north and/or west on Sat. Are you likely to take the train back? Flossmoor?
new since last time (which for me was their beer dinner on mon.):
English Bitter. Aroma is a blend of herbal, pine, and citrus balanced by bready malt flavors. The crisp, refreshing bitter finish keeps you going back for more.
Dry hopped wild ale with brettanomyces collaboration with Penrose Brewing. OMINOUS GIFT spent 6 months in white wine barrels and it aged beautifully.
and looking good at 18th street:
Named after A Slavic spirit creature with the demonic power of disorientation, this beer put the "Imp" in Russian Imperial Stout. Brewed with Cocoa Nibs, Cinnamon, and Metropolis Coffee Company's Redline Espresso, Imperial Blud will have your taste buds strangely bewildered and begging for just one more drop.
Part of their small batch series, IN THE SHADOWS, Selfie Entitlement is a Double India Pale Ale with Honey Added.
This beer is aged for 10 months in red wine barrels.
Helping to resurrect your palette from the doldrums, Rise of the Angels bursts onto your tongue with a blast of grapefruit zest that is quickly followed by a parade of floral, citrus hops.
