$3 BEER - BIKES - BBQ – RAFFLES - IT'S FREE!
Winter has finally released its death-grip on Chicago. In the spirit of spring, Schubas will celebrate Chicago’s greenest form of transportation: bicycles.
On Saturday, June 14th from 12-4PM, local shops will be on-hand to perform tune-ups, demos and workshops in Schubas’ parking lot. We will also host a bike drive to collect donated bikes and parts for Working Bikes Cooperative. For those attending Chicago’s Naked Bike Ride later in the evening, there will be plenty of BBQ and discounted libations from Revolution Brewing for peak physical performance. We will be raffling off cool prizes from local cycle shops, Schubas gift certificates & merchandise, and a custom Revolution Brewing bike made by The Bike Lane. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the door for $2.
In an effort to promote green transportation, all raffle proceeds benefit The Working Bikes Cooperative. WBC is a not-for-profit organization that diverts bicycles from the waste stream in Chicago by repairing them for sale and charity. WBC donates over 6,000 bikes annually to local and international partners. Starting in 1999, WBC set out to dedicate their hearts to recycling bikes, supporting bike culture and investing in local and international projects. Their mission since day one has been to find a better purpose for old bikes, and they have successfully done so by redistributing more than 38,000 bikes worldwide.
Globally, The Working Bikes Cooperative ships out its bicycles to their partners in countries throughout Latin America and Africa including, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Uganda, Ghana, and many others. Having an impact in the local-Chicago area, as well, WBC partners with homeless transition, refuge resettlement, and youth empowerment programs. Guests are invited to bring in their used bikes to donate for ten free raffle tickets.
In short:
- Outdoor BBQ
- $3 Revolution Brews
- Win a custom Revolution bike from The Bike Lane
- Talk shop with local cycle stores
- Bring your bike in for a check-up
- DJ Doug Hall on the ones & twos
- Recycle your old bike and receive ten free raffle tickets

Hey Bridgett,
We'll have a list of all the RSVP's with the bartender in the parking lot. Just mention that you RSVP'd on The Chainlink for the beer!
All Revolution beers are going to be $3. We'll be featuring the full menu inside and grilling:
.
Hey there! 2 questions: 1) How do we receive the free Revolution beer now that we've RSVPed here? 2) How much does drinks/food run generally if you're not doing the Naked Bike Ride later?
Thanks!
We could use a few more volunteers at our Chainlink table. You can sign up to help here.
Forgot to bring my wallet to this last year :( Looking forward to buying some beer and food this time around :)
Can't wait for the Bike BBQ and Bash - and the Revolution beer!
