Learn about the history and beginnings of the Forest preserves as we pedal form Buckingham Fountain to Camp Reinberg on a two day bike camping trip with historical breakpoints along the way.

At the stops we'll have historical maps, visuals, and stories collected from researchers which will explore the beginnings of the Forest preserves. At camp we will visit The Rookery; Chicagoland's largest Colonial site of nesting water birds; an impressive site to see for anyone, filled with black-crowned night herons, great egrets, double crested cormorants and great blue herons. *Warning seeing the Rookery at sunset might blow your mind.
ALL ARE WELCOME. If you have any flats or troubles we are here to help. The distance and trip are great for beginners and insightful for seasoned pros. So come along and invite a friend or make a new one. All proceeds go back to the nature, trail, and camping good.
DETAILS/WHAT TO BRING
We will meet up at Buckingham Fountain, Chicago, IL. at 7:00 am
Bring your bike, camping gear, and snacks
We'll Then Bike to & overnight at Camp Reinberg with breaks along the way. At camp explore, have fun, and have a fire.
On Day 2 we'll Return to Chicago by Bike with breaks and arrive around 5pm
The Pace: Casual, loose group, no one is left behind.
Mileage: Day One 45 | Day Two 42 (great for the beginner)
