Description

This event is part bike ride, part rally. On Saturday morning, cyclists from all over Chicago will converge on Daley Plaza. They will leave Daley Plaza at 11 a.m. to caravan to Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood and meet up with rally goers near the Fisk Coal-Fired Power Plant. Near Fisk, we will rally at 12:30 p.m. and then march/ride to call for an end to the toxic pollution from the Fisk and Crawford coal plants and current plans for dirty energy projects and demand a swift transition to clean energy and jobs. See the event website and come join us!

Come join the local movement to build clean, climate smart transportation and energy options that are good for our health and planet. For more motivation think about this: Chicago is the only city with 2 coal-fired power plants within city limits. The energy produced by these plants goes on the grid, mostly out of state (only 5% goes to Chicago.)

There are "pre-rides" to Daley Plaza also forming, e-mail me for details!

We've got to get the word out to the 6000 chainlinkers!  Maybewe should start a forum discussion that we can keep commenting on to keep it on the front page.  We can also ask Kelly (the wonderful editor/writer) for a special mention in the chainlink email newsletter.
