Please join us for this festive night that features a salute to Roger DeLanghe who made countless contributions to cycling over the years and ran the photo finish camera for the Ed Rudolph Velodrome for many years. Brutally fast, this 50 lap scratch race contest pays the top 25 places and offers the largest total purse of the season.
 
Each year the winner’s name is engraved onto one of the most impressive trophies in cycling. This night of racing features the most prime laden race of the season with the cr...owd favorite’s 4-place “mid-way sprint prime” at 25 laps and the 2-place “gamblers” prime at 2 laps to go.
Rider performance has been tracke
 
d over the entire race history since 1997 with the “DeLanghe Lion” listing. It’s a kind of ironman/ironwoman listing, tracking the cumulative performance of riders in all the Roger DeLanghe races they have competed. If a rider can place at least 25th, they earn at least 1 point and make the listing. Over the years, 135 riders have made the listing with at least one point. Alas many others have started the race but not been able to finish the race or make it into the top 25.
 

All racing categories will compete in different length scratch races with the featured race being the 50-lap Roger DeLanghe Trophy race. This night often draws riders from outside the state and some of the most talented riders across the country. Should more than the field limit number of riders register for the race, preliminary heat scratch races will be used to narrow the field. This year’s race is sponsored by the Pony Shop and Velosmith.
