ROADIECAB’s 2013 ROADIE Crew would like to formally invite you to our Grand Opening & Season Kick Off BLOCK PARTY on Saturday, June 22nd, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.

We are stepping out in the community and claiming our space in a bold way as the first US based pedicab operation to ever use the Polish “tadpole” trike design. After building our crew over the past few months and debuting our service in Chicago, we are now collectively ready to fully announce our shop location and presence next to the Bloomingdale Trail at the Kimball Arts Center (1757 N Kimball) in the heart of the vibrant North Humboldt Park and South Logan Square community.

Your dedicated ROADIES will be up early on the morning of the event cleaning up Bloomindale Ave from the 3300 to the 3400 block and the area surrounding the Arts Center.

Then, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, we will host our partners, friends and valued community businesses and organizations to offer you a completely free Neighborhood BLOCK PARTY featuring family friendly rickshaw rides and interactive information spaces, entertainment and learning experiences in the street to showcase the amazing folks from (all confirmed as of 6/10 with more expected):

Following the close of the block party, starting during the evening from 7pm on, our ROADIES will run a continuous "Armitage Ave Nightlife JITNEY" covering participating local businesses from Weegees at Lawndale to the West and Parson's at Humboldt to the East. The list of businesses and specific offered discounts and/or special event items will be posted here shortly, but so far the following businesses are confirmed:

Wristbands for the Jitney local business discounts will be free to attendees of the block party and anyone who uses the Jitney in the evening can grab one as well (suggested $1 tip to Roadie each time you get on the Jitney). Space on the Jitney will be on a first come first served single seating basis (if there is a space we will fill it, even if it breaks up groups) to further encourage neighbor introductions, conversation and further interaction throughout the community!
