Description

Come join the Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society Explorers on a ride to 3 breweries in the north burbs!

We'll meet at the Logan Square Monument for a 10am departure. Head over to the Des Plaines River Trail for about 25-30 miles to Mickey Finn's Brewery in Libertyville for lunch and beer.

From there we'll head 3 miles to Tighthead Brewing for some more beers. They don't have a kitchen there but we should still be good from Mickey Finn's.

And finally, we'll take the north shore bike path about 9 miles to Lake Bluff Brewing.

Lake Bluff metra stop is right around the corner to get us home or ride 30 miles back to Chicago on the McClory and Green Bay trails.

Total distance including getting to the Des Plaines River Trail should be a bit over 50 miles.

EDIT: We'll be picking up the River Trail at Oakton.  We'll leave a few minutes late for stragglers but route will be Kedzie to Elston to Bryn Mawr to the street that parallels Northwest Hwy to Busse to Oakton.

Exact route to the Des Plaines River Trail is TBD. In addition to relying on the reports of fellow chainlinkers, I'll check out the trail on the weekend before for its condition. That will determine where we pick up the trail.

Damn.  This seems like another doable one for me but alas I have an afternoon going away bbq to attend.  Being it's for a Brit moving back across the pond I'll assume there will be good beer so I can drink one with ya in spirit.

Yeah it was hard to avoid conflicts and still schedule the ride on a Saturday. This is easier in the winter!

I'm going as "Maybe" for now since that's the same day as the ride to watch the Chicago Fire
