Description

Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney is embarking on a sustainable transportation tour around our state, covering over 654 miles by bicycle and public transit, visiting 19 Illinois cities and traversing numerous towns and villages in 9 days from May 20-28, without using an automobile.

THURSDAY, MAY 20th

12:45 Cyclists gather @ 3044 W. Fullerton Avenue.

1:00 pm Press Conference / Sustainable Transportation Tour Launch from Logan Square campaign office @ 3044 W. Fullerton Avenue.

Mr Whitney will be joined by several supporters, including Jeremy Karpen, Green Party candidate for State Representative, District 39. They will cycle approximately 10.7 miles around District 39, stopping at Boulevard Bikes @ 2535 North Kedzie Boulevard before finishing at the Jefferson Park Metra Station, 4917 N. Milwaukee by 2:40 pm.

2:48-3:16 pm Mr Whitney and supporters will take the Metra to Arlington Heights Metra Station

3:30-5:00 pm Mr Whitney and supporters will cycle from Arlington Heights to Barrington via Palatine; approximately 12.2 miles.

6:00-7:00 pm Meet & Greet at Cook Street Coffee House, 100 East Station Road, Barrington (FREE; buy your own coffee)

We're looking for folks to join us in Logan Square at 12:45 or at the Arlington Heights Metra Station at 3:16pm. There's an evening house party in Buffalo Grove at 7:30pm as well.
