Starting off at Arcade Park at 10am, we'll take a leisurely, guided ride from Pullman through the former industrial areas beyond Sherwin-Williams properties to Beaubien Woods near 134th Street.
Passing natural areas struggling to return amidst former industrial plants, we'll experience a peacefulness along the way while we learn about the past and present. We'll glimpse the vast Metropolitan Water Reclamation District operations before reaching the Cal-Sag Channel and Flatfoot Lake.
Join with riders from the Pullman Youth Group, Pullman Business Council, Active Transportation Alliance, Field Museum, Historic Pullman Garden Club, Southeast Environmental Task Force, Folks on Spokes, Friends of the Major Taylor Trail, and the Blue Island Bike Club.
Total: about 6 miles; 2 1/2 hours. Pack a lunch; wear your helmet. If it's raining, go back to bed!
Accessible via Metra Electric line (111th St.) or I-94 to 111th St.
