Description

Greetings fellow 47th ward cyclists!

The 47th ward hasn't had a serious contest for alderman since Eddy Merckx last finished on the podium in Paris (1975 - ask your parents).  But not this time around, and in spite of the local political machine's best efforts, it's going to be a real race for alderman.

After looking at all the candidates, the many progressive activists in the ward are uniting behind political newcomer Ameya Pawar.  He has the intelligence, energy and experience to be an alderman that the 47th ward can be proud of.

His appeal is widespread: the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Northside Democracy for America, and the Chicago Teachers Union have all endorsed Ameya.

Join me and other Pedalers for Pawar at Gannon's Pub this Friday (2/18) at 7:30pm to get acquainted with each other and learn how we can work together to help the campaign's Get Out The Vote push.  And if you're an undecided 47th ward voter, this will be a great chance to talk to your cycling peers and learn how Ald. Pawar will work for the cycling community in ward 47 and citywide.

Learn more about this "Ameyazing" candidate at his website: Renew Chicago.  Don't miss his prototype iPhone app for improving city services.

Hope to see you Friday.  And don't forget to vote next Tuesday, Feb 22!

Pawar for the People!
