Enjoy a free pedestrian playground on 3 car-free miles of Milwaukee Ave. on Sunday, September 15 in Wicker Park, Bucktown and Logan Square. Join Open Streets Chicago in these landmark neighborhoods from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Experience Milwaukee Avenue when it’s closed to car traffic and open for biking, running, free yoga classes and skate jams. There will be dancing lessons, a variety of games for adults and kids, fencing demos, a beer garden hosted by Revolution Brewing and an Aldi rest stop offering BBQ and snacks. Check out an inflatable art playground by Latent Design and free health tests from Walgreens’ Way to Well Tour Bus.
The 3-mile-long event will be held on Milwaukee Avenue between Ashland Avenue and Logan Boulevard in Wicker Park, Bucktown and Logan Square.
Open Streets Chicago is brought to you by the Active Transportation Alliance in partnership with Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber and SSA #33.

Such a bummer about the rain but big props to the super friend ATA people, general volunteers and the awesome Bike and Roll guy who convinced me and some friends to try out one of those bike cart thingies with 6 seats (for free, whee!!!) I *HATE* those things on the LFT but had a great time riding it up and down Milwaukee. That thing actually handles better than you'd think it would!
The Chainlink table will be near Milwaukee and Wolcott. I will be there from 10:00 to about 11:30. Everybody should stop by!
This should be abscrewlutly amazing. GET EVERYBODY YA KNOW OUT THERE...it would be great if we could get people out there spending like the economy has busted out in roses but just showing retailers that there is a powerful movement of bicyclists and pedestrians to be mined would be good.
3 miles and counting car free and back in the people's domain....
