Description

April Fools' Day will be our first group ride of the year. Meet at the Illinois Centennial Monument. We are going to head north along paths and railbeds, some old, some still active. If there's momentum, we can ride all the way to the Baha'i Temple off-road. Or we can double back once me make it to Green Bay Road. Wide tires are helpful, as there are some short intense sections of ballast. Cyclocross tires are fine if you can power through the rough.

Comment by kevin womac on March 31, 2017 at 9:54am: Not blistering fast. But fast enough to keep from getting bogged down. It will be dry up there so bogged down in respect to effort. 12-15 on smooth ground, 6-12 on gravel.
