Description
Join the party! Three Floyds will blend together Surly Darkness, Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch, De Struise Black Albert, and their own Dark Lord -- "for maximum ass kickery" -- to create their XV anniversary beer.
"There are few places more exciting from a beer lover's perspective", says the NY Times, and the food is conceived with panache. Guest chefs will include Paul Kahan and Justin Large from Big Star, Mindy Segal from Hot Chocolate, Jonathan Sawyer from the Greenhouse Tavern in Ohio, and a mysterious someone from Denmark.
They will also have live entertainment. It could be loud.
The catch? A ticket is required for the party. They go on sale online at 1 pm on Monday, 10/10. They're $25 each, you can't buy more than two, and you have to be 21.
We'll leave the clock tower at 10, pick up South Siders at the 31st Street beach house at 10:45, and take a short break at Wolf Lake. We won't all return at the same time. Going, we'll take the Daniel Burnham Centennial Century route (with an optional 1.5-mile off-road shortcut at the end), coming back, the traditional winter route (those less interested in riding or too interested in drinking can instead ride just 10 miles to Flossmoor Station and hop the Metra).
This will be a joint ride with the Chicago Cycling Club. It will be 70 miles at 15-18 mph. We won't make many stops. We may not stay together. Faster riders may go ahead, and slower riders may drop back. Bring money, a lock, snacks to have en route, and panniers to bring back your bottles of XV anniversary beer.
Anyone interested is more than welcome to meet us at the brew pub even if they don't care to participate in the bike ride.

The forecast is now up to 58 °F. But south winds 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon, are also predicted.
Anniversary Party tips for success:
- The anniversary party requires a ticket for entry. There will be no admittance for non ticket holders. The Munster Police Dept. will be out to enforce traffic flow and loitering.
- Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
- The weather in early November is unpredictable. It may be freezing so be prepared.
- Please do not bring anything to sell. Vending will not be permitted.
- Please hang on to your tickets. You’ll be glad you did.
- The Event is cash only. There will be ATMs on site.
- Most of all please be respectful of our town and our neighbors. We want to continue to hold a safe and fun event in the years to come and we can only do it with your help.

Would like to ride, but not too enthusiastic about the party, given how long we had to wait last time to get in. If I can find a ticket, I will come.
