Description

This is the third research ride for the tour of the Near West Side. As with the first, and at least part of the third research ride, we will explore properties off of a list, take notes about routing and street conditions, take pictures of listed properties and sites, and discuss the merits of various potential stops. By now, we have ideas about routing, entry angles and other concerns that help create the route for the final route.

Riding on any of the research rides or the pre-ride will earn you $5 off the $10 tour price. Volunteering to act as a ride marshall on the main tour and your ride is free. All of the pre-rides themselves are free of charge and are a great way to learn about the area and see things "behind the scenes" before the tour is finalized.

Children's Advocacy Center was designed by Stanley Tigerman and is still at 1240 S. Damen. You should remain in charge of the tours. St. Ignatius was built as a secondary school, but

The College was to offer a six year program, four years of it in the “Academy” and two more, as was often the custom then, in what we would today call “collegiate studies.”
