Description

This is the first research ride for the tour of the Near West Side. We will explore properties off of a list, take notes about routing and street conditions, take pictures of listed properties and sites, and discuss the merits of various potential stops.

Riding on any of the research rides or the pre-ride will earn you $5 off the $10 tour price. Volunteering to act as a ride marshall on the main tour and your ride is free. All of the pre-rides themselves are free of charge and are a great way to learn about the area and see things "behind the scenes" before the tour is finalized.

keep me posted if you need any help with the Lawndale section of the ride. I work at Sinai, and know a lot about the Jewish history in the area, and some of the things to see...such as Homan Square in the old Sears Tower building, Douglas Park, and of course the many 'used to be synagogues' in the neighborhood. If I'm not working, I'll try to make it to one or both of the research rides. So glad you're doing this area!
