When you've got to go, you've got to go. Spring time riding is some of the best riding around, and this ride will be all about finding new routes, roads, and radness. Will there be road markings? Nope. Will there be a GPS track to follow? Probably not. Will you go places you've never been, most positively. Come equipped to support yourself for a day in the saddle. You can expect gravel, path, and road riding. If you are touring curious, this will be a great ride to test your gear and fitness.

Happy Friday Everybody! It looks like the weather is going to be great for tomorrows ride.
Here are some details to help you out.
Where: Penrose Brewing Co., 509 Stevens St, Geneva, IL 60134
When: Wheels up at 10:30am
There are 50 mile and 40 mile long routes. At mile 33/25 we will stop for burgers and beers at Chuck's.
We should be back to Penrose about 3-3:30pm
How to get there: Driving is a simple choice, but no car, no problem. All you need is a bungie cord and $10 or the Ventra phone app to take the Metra out.
Metra Riders: Don't have a car to get out to Geneva? Don't worry, we can take the Metra out and back. Meet up at roll: on Clybourn at 7:45am, and we'll roll: out at 8:00am to catch the 8:40 train to Geneva. You can buy tickets at the ticket window(cash/credit), or use the new Ventra app. A weekend pass is $8. We'll catch the4:40pm train back to the city.
Route: You can check out the route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4651191 I'll have some queue sheets for handing out. Please note that the route builder had some trouble with a trail/farm road or two. Don't worry, just enjoy the adventure.
Weather will be sunny, so wear some sun screen. Temp will vary from 50-65 degrees so a light layer that can be removed and stored as the temp rises will be key. Think arm/leg warmers, vest, or wind jacket.
Nutrition: Chuck's Bar and Grill is located just off the route at mile 33. I will be stopping in for a burger, fries and beer. Besides that, the route doesn't run directly by a grocery/mart/convenience store. Over the first 10/last 10 or so miles we pass closely by some options you can get to if you're bonking. That said, plan accordingly. Pack big water bottles.
After Party: We'll finish at Penrose Brewing, and we'll be able to park our bikes inside, so no need for locks.
