Even under the most optimistic scenario, extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, and tornadoes are expected to intensify in the midwest over the next several decades. And while they occur far from Illinois, hurricanes and coastal flooding will still affect us.
How will these changes affect Midwest businesses? What can business owners do to protect themselves? Will climate change and extreme weather lead to new business opportunities?
The reality is that we are off to the races in terms of climate change. Climate change is accelerating, and at some point, we could reach a tipping point. But the good news is that climate change and extreme weather are also creating new and exciting business opportunities. It is not hopeless. If we can manage our fear and focus on the positive, we can change our lives for the better --- and save the planet while we are at it.
Please join us for a stimulating evening of networking and speakers.
