Description

Well I know some of us are aware what this months Marauders ride is, but for those that don’t, it’s the Subterranean. This is a tour of Chicago’s underground labyrinth of service roads and oddities, known only to city workers and messengers. But the Marauders know them better than both.

This has always been our most challenging ride of the year for several reasons. First the route. I cannot go into detail on this. Second the number, and make up of participants. This is not the ride for you to bring a bunch of friends that have never done a Marauders ride. It is difficult enough without a bunch of newbies, so don’t detract from everyone’s experience by bringing them.

As for the details, this will not be a trailer friendly ride. The use of sound systems will be very limited. There will be at least one section where you will have to carry your bike, over obstacles, for at least 50 yards. OK maybe 30, but you get the idea.

The gist of it - this is only a ride for at least moderately experienced cyclists.

know this:

1) we are a drop ride.

if you cannot fix your mechanical issues or just dawdle, we will leave you behind.

2) come packing 'cause there will be no liquor stop.

you heard me right- no liquor stop.

 3) as always, this is ayor.

we have no charity slush fund if you get fined.  on the bright side, we know some good lawyers if you get arrested.

4) if you want to promote the ride, keep it on chainlink.

no twitter. no facebook. no other social media sites. history proves that when this ride goes viral it gets out of hand.

please- NO public postings of this event on non-chainlink social media!  we want you to bring cool and experienced people, but this ride can suck if it goes viral and then gets out of hand. (which has occurred before.)
