Its camping time!! Please RSVP for the MAY edition of PITCHING A TENT, a camping trip to Illinois Beach State Park in Zion IL. We will, of course, be biking up there with our gear in tow, on paniers, and on our backs.

Metting place will be North Shore Channel Trail entrance at Lawrence & California.

You must RSVP for this event so we know how many campsites to get. They do not have group sites. Sites are limited to 5 adults and two tents.

HAPPY CAMPERS!

Lets meet 9am. Agreed? At the North Shore Channel Trail entrance at near Lawrence & California. Agreed?

You're probably right about 5 hours. Takes me max 4 hours to do the distance on the workhorse while meandering. That's without stopping the eat etc. Five hours sounds about right. We also know that if we "meet" at 8:30 we won't actually take off till 9 or 9:30 because people need to get to the start point.

I don't know. I just added Larry to the list. Shawn C.?

Yes, 3pm is the earlist, but if the site is unoccupied then you can most likely go ahead and set up. I'm assuming it will take us at least 5 hours with this many people and all the stops to rest, to eat and to pee along the way. I don't know. I've never ridden all the way up there before.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to ride with the larger group as I'll be working until around noon. I plan on leaving at around 1 pm. If anyone else can't make the early start time, let me know. I've done the ride before.

I'm bummed about missing the ride up, but am looking forward to seeing everyone while camping and on the way back!

I know my reservation says the earliest I can claim it is 3pm. I was assuming the same for others?

Ooops, that's supposed to be 8:30am.
