Description

Join REI and John Elliott from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, as we celebrate the release of the PBS Ken Burns documentary The National Parks: Americas Best Idea.
With over 200 picnic groves, over 100 miles of paved bicycle trails, over 200 miles of multi-use trails for equestrians, hikers, and XC-skiers, 10 golf courses, 4 driving ranges, 5 toboggan slides and much much more, the network of forest preserves in Cook County is a vast natural resource. These areas that we enjoy are also steeped in history! Join John Elliott for a fascinating multi-media presentation about the history of the Forest Preserves in Cook County! Refreshments will be served and REI will be raffling off a copy of Ken Burns’ amazing documentary full of stories and stunning imagery of Americas National Parks.
