Hello riders we are less than a week away from the Adventure Cycling Tours Graffiti and Gears event. Have you had your bicycle check up yet lately? I would recommend paying a visit to your local bike shop this week prior to the tour this Sunday.  If you would like to learn how to maintain your own bicycle visit one of the open shop nights listed at the end of this post.

Here are the top issues we see on rides that can be avoided ahead of time.

Proper Tire Inflation- It’s not a great idea showing up to a group ride knowing your your tire pressure is low. Often times it turns out to be a slow leak or flat. Fixing flats out of the gate can delay our start time. (Also always carry a spare inner tube)

Brake Adjustments- Please make sure your brakes are adjusted properly for improved stopping control.

Saddle Adjustment - You will be surprised how much farther you can ride with a properly adjusted saddle.

Chain Lubrication - A properly lubricated chain reduces friction (easier to pedal) and increases the life of your bicycles drivetrain.

Thanks to everyone who has pre-registered, we have a lot to see on this tour and want to minimize repair times before/during/after the event.

Remember to bike safely.

I am please to announce Luis from Pilsen Public Art Tours (http://www.ppat.space) will be hosting the Pilsen Mural Wall portion of this Adventure Cycling Tours (https://www.adventurecycling.tours) event. Be sure to register in advance, he also lended a hand on the Divvy Adventures-Pilsen Murals tour and shared his verse knowledge about the murals and culture surrounding these much appreciated murals in Pilsen.
