Meet up someplace in Chicago, ride and ride and ride. Get some supper in Milwaukee. Meet up with their Critical Mass and make friends who'll let us crash over. Meet up in the morning and eat something, ride and ride and ride all the way home!
Unless we get a huge group interested, it might be best to take Metra to Kenosha on Friday to make sure we get to Milwaukee in time and with enough energy for Critical Mass. We can ride the whole way back to Chicago on Saturday, though, so we're sure to make it over 100 miles for the trip.
This is a ride for those who've ridden through at least a couple of winters already and know how to keep feet and hands warm. This is an unsupported ride, so we'll need to be responsible for keeping each other alive and riding. Cliff Bars and cookies are absolutely essential. It's not a race, but we'll have to keep moving at a reasonably brisk pace to keep from freezing.
Please weigh in here on ideas for a route. Does anyone have friends in Milwaukee that ride Critical Mass? Please reach out to them and let them know we're coming and can we crash on their floor?

If I can get the afternoon off work I may take the 12:43 pm from Clybourn to Kenosha, arriving at 2:15, and meet you down the road.
Didn't Dave Schlabowske offer to host the ride? I can double check if you haven't heard back from him. Also, you know that bikes are allowed on the 7:25 am train from Ogilvie, if you want to get an earlier start.
I reckon we should find the road around 10am, but that might be optimistic. I pledge to leave nobody in the lurch, and likewise swear that I will not be the one you're all waiting for so help me gods.
Oh--also this--I'm getting nothing but cricketsounds when I try to reach out to Milwaukee Critical Mass folks about a floor to crash on for the night. I think we might have to see about a hotel or whatever unless any of you have friends up there that'd let us in?
Work is conspiring against me... I'm down to 50/50 at this point.
Rico--By "ride down with Adam" are you talking about getting kicked out of The Garden?
Deet--that sucks! tell your boss that I hate him/her!
I'll pick up the Metra by my house in Rogers Park. 20 bikes allowed and we're riding all the way to the end of the line.
Brandon--quit your job! We're hoping to be past Kenosha by then, but let's make sure you have our phone contact info for rendezvous.
Weather's gonna be great--I say we take the earlier train in case the snow slows us down. Snow ride!
I feel like I got ripped off with last year's "frozen" century, so I'm in this year.
However, I've got to work until at least noon on friday. Any chance someone has and idea of the route you're taking and about when you'll be where? There's a train arriving in Kenosha at 2:15 that I could take, if you'll be near there. Or if you'll be past there I suppose I could just try to catch up, if I know the route.
A couple of maps gleaned from mapmyride.com.

Map 1 employs a number of trails. Map 2 is mostly Green Bay Road. Map 1 might not be the best idea, depending on snow cover. I also enjoyed Kevin's route from 2011's Frozen Snot
I created a Runkeeper map based on Google Map cycling directions. It's doubtful we'll stick to this, but it's good to have a general idea: http://runkeeper.com/user/adamwonak/route/1868377
