Meet up someplace in Chicago, ride and ride and ride. Get some supper in Milwaukee. Meet up with their Critical Mass and make friends who'll let us crash over. Meet up in the morning and eat something, ride and ride and ride all the way home!
Unless we get a huge group interested, it might be best to take Metra to Kenosha on Friday to make sure we get to Milwaukee in time and with enough energy for Critical Mass. We can ride the whole way back to Chicago on Saturday, though, so we're sure to make it over 100 miles for the trip.
This is a ride for those who've ridden through at least a couple of winters already and know how to keep feet and hands warm. This is an unsupported ride, so we'll need to be responsible for keeping each other alive and riding. Cliff Bars and cookies are absolutely essential. It's not a race, but we'll have to keep moving at a reasonably brisk pace to keep from freezing.
Please weigh in here on ideas for a route. Does anyone have friends in Milwaukee that ride Critical Mass? Please reach out to them and let them know we're coming and can we crash on their floor?

Sorry for the late notice, but I will have to bail due to the conditions and the lack of control with my bike.
Anybody still down for taking the 12:43 Metra train from Clybourn to Kenosha with me and biking the remaining 35 miles to Milwaukee Critical Mass? The roads should be better by then.
Hey everyone, I've decided to bail on this ride. Even with my cross tires, I'm spinning out and struggling to control my bike. Since its a new route for me and the conditions are so bad, I've decided to stay home. Sorry for the late notice.
Hey guys, I'm planning to catch the 12:43 from Clybourn to Kenosha. If you feel like it email me your contact info at greenfieldjohn[at]hotmail.com so I can catch up with you. I'm at 312-560-3966.
Sir Bikes-A-Lot and I will be holding hands all the way to Milwaukee.
Ah I hadn't noticed that you'd posted a map too Sir Bikes, looks good! But I'll be bailing too. Babysitting the kids while David takes care of the health issue. Hope you can still make the ride happen!
Sorry to hear that David, feel better soon.
Sorry to hear that David. I'm gonna miss that big icy beard of yours! I feel pretty good about the routes Swap and I have posted. I can help lead the pack in your absence.
Sorry David. Hope you get back on the horse soon!
Ok, this sucks. I have to bail. Long time health issue flared up and I'm not in shape to ride after all. I'm sorry, everybody.
Next project for me--a Spring ride to Madison, stay tuned.
