Greasy Three productions is proud to present Chi-Town's first ever Bike In Movie Night. At Sunset this Thursday in Wicker Park, we'll be screening the classic Charles Bukowski adaptation, Mickey Rourke as Henry Chinaski in BARFLY. Bring beer, blankets, buddies, and your best Bukowski short story, poem, or encounter to share--best reading wins a six pack, on us. Beers, bikes, Bukowski...What else is summer good for.

It was amazing to see that an idea that can be cracked up in a bar on Sunday can get over 30 people to show up on Thursday! For any of you that did not get the full story, we got kicked out by about a dozen cops because we were lacking permits. After looking into permits, they would suck to get, you have to turn in an application and $30 more then 30 days before the event and you are not allowed to have tents or reschedule if it rains, meaning that if there is rain you are shit out of luck. The things that cause a permit to be necessary are events with: 1. 50 or more participants,
2. use of amplified sound,
3. tents or stages,
4. liquor,
5. any advertising or sponsorship activities, and
merchandise, etc.

I think we can avoid all of these and so i put in a call asking if we could have a movie night if it was devoid of all these things, although as you may have guessed, the park district does have an all encompassing "we may require permits" clause for just about anything so we will see. If all goes well expect another movie attempt within a week or so.
