Description

We should start early, no later than 7 a.m. Ride from Senn Playlot Park (under The Young Lincoln statue) to Wilmette on the N. Shore Channel Trail, and Sheridan Rd going north to Robert McClory Bike Path in Highland Park all the way up to Wisconsin/Illinois border. We'll rurn west on Russel Rodad then we'll take the Des Plaines River Trail south to Libertyville for lunch and libation at Mickey Finn's Brewery in Libertyville.

Pace will be average around 15MPH

Bring:

After that, we either continue on Des Plaines River Trail south to Schiller Woods and go east on Lawrence back to Lincoln Square for some ice cream, or take the Metra back from Lake Bluff.

If you're doing the full century, and then some, Google Maps approximates this trip will be around 100 miles.

If the DP River trail is impassable due to the (possible) rain, we can swing to the east and take the Skokie Valley Bike Path - cut east on Lake Cook Rd (north of the Botanic Garden) and take the Green Bay Trail south.

Pace will "average" around 15mph. You can go faster if you want, but remember, this is not a supported century.

Please bring:

  • water
  • layers
  • light weight lock
  • bungee for Metra
  • flat kit (tube, patch kit, pump)

I'll probably be there for the first leg of the trip bro. Nice photo.

This one is not a CBES ride drinking ride per say.

Unfortunately, as the weather gets nicer, there will be strong possibility that there may be more than one event at any given weekend day.

Oh Yeah!

Ooops. Didn't see I'm already a "maybe" for Duppie's Hailstorm ride on the same day. Why are we doubling up on CBES rides?

what pace are we looking at? 14-15?

Comment by Duppie on April 17, 2014 at 6:58am

I am leading another ride, otherwise I'd be in.
