In conjunction with the Brookfield Zoo, Milwaukee Zoo, American Association of Zoo Keepers and Polar Bears International, the Chicago Cycling Club is proud to announce the first annual Cycle for Change ride from Brookfield Zoo to the Milwaukee County Zoo on Saturday July 21, 2012.
Philip Fensterer, a zookeeper with the Oregon Zoo and an Artic Ambassador with Polar Bears International will be our ride leader.
The ride will start at the Brookfield Zoo and will take us along the shores of Lake Michigan with our first stop at Ft. Sheridan for brunch. Then onwards to Kenosha for snacks and finally to the Milwaukee County Zoo for dinner. This is a sag wagon supported ride with snacks, drinks and light mechanical assist.
You’re welcome to ride with us as far as you wish, join us along the way or ride the entire route to Milwaukee County Zoo.
There is no fee for this innaugaural ride but advance registration is required to sign the special waiver and for our logistics. There is a limited number of riders that we can support so if you’re interested please RSVP quickly (we’re OK if you withdraw later but we need to get head counts as early as we can to prepare).
As a special treat to participants, Philip and the staff at the Brookfield Zoo will give a talk and a special behind the scenes look at the Polar Bear exhibit at the Brookfield Zoo the evening before the ride (July 20th). We're limited to 30 people for this special presentation so RSVP quickly.
For RSVP, registration and/or pledge instructions and other questions, send emails to Philip Fensterer and Howard Lo (fensterer3@mac.com;hloworld@gmail.com)
We hope you can join us (click here to Learn more),
Sincerely,
Chicago Cycling Club, Rides Committee
