Intrigued by the idea of riding with your kids but not sure where to start? Got questions about cargo bikes?

Come join us for a family-focused session lead by Elsbeth Cool, co-founder of Chicago Family Biking and owner of Four Star Family Cyclery. We'll cover all the basics for getting around on two wheels with kids in tow and have plenty of time for questions!

Our conversation will focus on the variety of options for accommodating young passengers (from kid seats to trailers to cargo bikes), how to choose safe and family-friendly routes, fitting kids' helmets, solutions for carrying passengers and cargo at the same time, and other hacks and tricks we've learned along the way.

Several different bike set-ups will be available for test rides. We'll have a woman's step-through bike with Yepp Mini and Maxi seats, an Xtracycle Edgerunner, and an Urban Arrow with Electric Assist! If you're interested in testing out any bikes, we will help you get acclimated and comfortable.

Attendees will be entered in a drawing to win a free three day cargo bike rental!

We encourage you to the bring your whole family. The kids can sit in on the conversation, or play in our playroom while you learn. Donuts and coffee will be provided!

About The Presenter:

Elsbeth moved to Chicago 8 years ago and categorically refused to ride a bike. After becoming a parent, she began to discover how cycling could offer a new kind of freedom and joy in getting her around the city. Now with two kids and a cargo bike, she's glad she changed her mind. Co-Founder of Chicago Family Biking--an online community of nearly a thousand local parents--she rides year round with her family, has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, and most recently opened Four Star Family Cyclery, a family and cargo focused bike shop based in Logan Square. Elsbeth loves helping families discover the possibilities of life by bike.
