Description

Ok, kids, the deal is we ride to 2 Brothers in Warrenville, then we ride to Wheaton to go camping!

The ride to Warrenville is approximately 33 miles, so it won't be too strenuous (particularly for those of you suckers who don't have someone with a car to carry yo' shit for you)!  I think we should still leave fairly early, so we have some time in the brewery and in front of the campfire.  However, its only about 7 miles to the campground.

I'm unfamiliar with both of these places, so if anyone has some input as to routes, calling ahead, reservations, and what not, its always appreciated! That being said, I want to do a pre-ride, but haven't decided on a date.  Anyone game?

I'll be bringing a two-person tent. I maybe able to get a 4-person, if needed. And yes, I will chip in for the campsites as well.

...and I'm thinking we should leave no later than 8 on Saturday morning from either Union Park or Fort Awesome.  It looks like we may have a breakfast hosted for us in Oak Park.  Then, we can be on our way from there!  Woo hoo!  Let the party begin!

On that note, the two campsites were only $40 altogether, thanks to Ed's residency.  So, if everyone who stays on those campsites (which may be everyone) chips in, it'll be super cheap!

If we need more campsites, then yes.  We are under capacity for the amount of people of people we can have on a site.  But, I don't know what the plan is for everyone on tents.  We are limited on how many we can have, although I do wonder how heavily that is enforced!  I have a lightweight 2 person that I intend on bringing.

So whats the deal with tents and camp sites? should we get more camp sites or having everyone share tents?

all ya 'maybes' better firm up.  hehe...firm. and she said poles. heh  hehe  uh  hehe.

can we rename it to the 'pitching a tent - firm pole' ride?

So, pre-ride was pretty fantastic!  Campsite is quite lovely.  Ed was nice enough to reserve two group campsites, which allows for 4 tents and 16 people, if memory serves.  So, everyone might want to figure that out or reserve their own site.  Also, the campground says there is no alcohol, which i believe just translates into a request for subtlety.

The brewery is about 2-3 miles away and pretty simple bike ride!

Lastly, the campground does a have a lake and people were fishing in it last Friday, so, if that's your bag, grab your poles (hahaha...I said "poles").  Also, what's the good of water if ya can't jump into it, so bring your suits too!

That's it for now!
