Description

Winter feels like its still here.  Time for more Pho!

Meet up at my house (Hermitage/Lawrence, email/call for exact address) and ride 6 blocks to a Vietnamese Pho restaurant at Argyle Street and Boadway. We will be eating at Pho Viet located at 4941 North Broadway.

It can't get simpler or shorter.

And the restaurant is BYOB!!!

If you think that is too long of a ride, you can meet us at the restaurant at 6:30 (whimps).

Plenty of vegetarian options. The veggie Pho with tofu is my favorite.

If you don't know what Pho Soup is, I copied some stuff from Wikipedia:

Vietnamese dishes are meals typically served with lots of greens, herbs, vegetables and various other accompaniments such as dipping sauces, hot and spicy pastes, and flavor enhancements such as a squeeze of lime or lemon. The dish is garnished with ingredients such as green onions, white onions, coriander, Thai basil (húng quế) (should not be confused with sweet basil - Vietnamese: húng chó or húng dổi), fresh Thai chili peppers, lemon or lime wedges, bean sprouts, and leaves of culantro (ngò gai) (should not be confused with cilantro or coriander - which is called ngò rí in Vietnamese. The coriander plant is used just for its seeds - hạt ngò to prepare the broth, but not its leaves).

If that doesn't leave you hungry, I don't know what will...

And their veggie spring rolls are amazing.

M K - I promise you will like it!  I haven't met a person yet who didn't like it. Hope to see you there.

I don't live to far away, but I'm north from you, so I might just meet you there. I've never tried pho but am a avid fan of Tom Yum soup, so I think this will be up my alley!

I once thought somebody should open a Vietnamese restaurant called What the Pho? (the word is pronounced "fuh") but somebody beat me to it: http://www.whatthepho.net/
