Sweet, those are more than likely the street markings we were following.

folks - there is a perfect route for bikes already out there from
the Tour de Shore. I did it in 2009.

Here it is : http://tinyurl.com/2czecr4

AND there is a great bar (fried fish, cheap beer and pool table)
real close to the state park.

My best quess for navigating before/through Hobart...
The Oak Savannah trail ends at E 7th st. Head east(r) to Main St. Take a left on Main (not far up the rd) and you'll see the path entrance continue from the right side of the road. There's a bit more trail before you end up at E 5th street which immediately turns into 6th st. Take a right and follow 5th/6th to Indiana St. Take a left and head to Georgiana St where you turn left as well. You then take a right on Illinois and a right on Lillian. Turn left on S Indiana and turn right on Cleveland. Left on Hobart Rd which takes you directly to the beginning of the Prarie Duneland path. (it'll be on the right)

Google map your address leading to Indiana Dunes State Park for bicycling directions. I looked at google's suggestion and it's pretty much how I remember coming back. The transition areas in Hobart are weird but we discovered an organized ride had marked the roads somewhat. Look for little green markings like you'd see in the north shore century before a turn. A lot of the proposed paths on the NW IN map are now finished. Hope this helps :-) .
