Description

This event is for those of you who thought the June ride wasn't everything it could have been and for those who have posted on the internet's several good ideas on improving future rides. This is a call to action and coffee at the Artists Cafe downtown this coming Saturday (date may change) to strategize and brainstorm new and amazing tactics to help make the rest of our CCM summer a better time. We will report back our findings to the Critical Mass listserve and the Chainlink.

The date and location is negoitiable based on the needs of people who are interested in attending.

Please, I encourage you to come regardless of who else may be attending. Throughout the years there have been rivalries and disagreements that have lead to harsh language. Leave that kind of history at the door. This is a think tank on Critical Mass strategy not a meet up about personal issues between members of the biking community. If you feel like this meet up isn't appropriate or illigitimate for whatever reason I strongly encourage you to have your own meeting and report back what you find.

PLEASE RSVP SO THAT I CAN GET A TABLE OR SPACE FOR THE APPROPRIATE NUMBER OF PEOPLE

Hey everyone. There was a problem with the notes. My battery died in the middle of taking them and the file was corrupt. I just not go around to re-building it. It's what I get for using OpenOffice. Here are the notes! http://bit.ly/cpWouc

"A goal without a plan is just a wish."

My practical objective is to improve ChicagoCriticalMass.org intro for participants content, by synthesizing accumulated lessons from meeting discussion and post-June and RouteDev and About and post-rides and WNBR-C and film and other cities and The Derailleur, etc.

Our own forgetfulness, and newbies, are prime easy targets for improvement, I believe.
Across most perspective, some consensus stands on issues such as booze and glass, corking and leading, dealing with raging cagers, speed, cops, vocabulary, ...
I'm seeking to distill these to bullet points. The CCM site already covers such things, but verbosely. Pre-distilled points from others are encouraged, thanx.

Also, I note just now upon inviting others (and cross-posting to FaceBook), that almost nobody I know on TCL (which is many) was already invited. I know its late, but all should invite all, eh? Barring disaster, I'll be there 5:30-7:30p.

Since there hasn't been too much in the way of discussion regarding the details of the tonights meeting or it's specific goals or topic... I do not think a formal meeting with an agenda, mediator, stack tacker or a sign in for those attending is necessary. However I will be taking notes to put onto the listserv and CCM group page. Remember we are not an official Critical Mass group just concerned participants so formality is already a moot point.

Consider it nixed. Was a bad idea anyway just thought I would try floating new ideas. Most of the time they sink. ; )

I kind of agree with Howard on this.

6 or 630 would be better for me...I do not get off til 6 officially (although I may be able to get out up to a half hour early if my luck is good). I am downtown it will only take me 10 min to get there.

Think you can make it around six? People won't really make it until six anyway.

I'm a noob and only been to about a half-dozen rides, but I like to help out anyway I can.

The June ride to me had a bad vibe and just seemed "off".

The location / time is good for me, I live/work in the loop.
