Description

Come join the BBC as we celebrate the power of the laboring classes on May Day!

We will start the day at "Red" Square Bar and Grill in Avondale, across the street from Kuma's, and will venture to many different areas of the city such as leftist landmarks, parks and other watering holes.

The route map will be posted soon and will include a picnic stop so be sure to bring some grub for your panniers!

See you all then!

Shay - you have thrown down the gauntlet. Our research spies will track the boat and make sure we are there to shout (and MUCH worse) as you pass beneath the bridge!

hey - I just read in the reader that haymarket brewing is opening at Randolph and Halstead : the old Bar Louie location.

this would be a good May Day stop as well.

Aaron - you rock you fat bottomed girl !!!

Garth - ha ha! I'm sure my boss would love it if when we passed under a bridge a bunch of drunk lunatics on bikes were screaming my name and waving (and possibly worse). Yeah, people from the University of Chicago would really love that. :)

Toffs vs toughs???

So will our May Day Tweed aptly reflect the class/mass division amongst our British Cousins?

Shay - you should let us know when you're leaving and what the route of your boat will be. Perhaps we could gather at one of the bridges as you pass underneath?

Dang! I have to work that evening - boat cruise on the Chicago River, schmoozing, trying to keep my tattoos covered, trying not to get too drunk on free booze, and trying to act respectable-like. I shall raise a glass of expensive booze to y'all. I'd rather be sweaty and on my bike with you guys, believe me. :(

If anyone's wondering about the connection between The City of Big Shoulders and the Commies there's great background info here.

I hadn't realized that the Communist Party of America was founded in Chicago. And that The Man was so worried, Chicago's Finest instituted the Red Squad!
