Description

CYCLING COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION!

We are hurting. We have lost too many people on the streets of "America's #1 Bicycling City". Join us for the installation of yet another ghost bike and a public call to action for our streets to be safer for all.

We will have a few hundred votives available thanks to an anonymous donation, but also encourage you to bring your bike light to the vigil.

Drivers need to pay attention. Infrastructure needs to be improved. Laws need to be enforced. Everyone needs to be educated. Enough is enough. NO MORE DEAD CYCLISTS!

We will use this event to organize people and communicate important next steps for Friday and beyond. Help us spread the word by SHARING with your network.

WE HAVE TO DEMAND BETTER.

-Rebecca Resman, Chicago Kidical Mass Organizer & Chicago Family Biking Co-founder

Bring a candle (with a clear cup windscreen) to light. We will line the narrow sidewalks of this corner in every direction and have a respectful vigil.

I believe that it is time for this country to begin mandating truck side guards. Truck side guards are vehicle-based safety devices designed to keep pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists from being run over by a large truck rear wheels in a side- impact collision.
