You get out at 3?!! I heard Columbia college is closing all together for today too. WTF....why am I potentially in school until 9:30!?

Thanks for being the one brave enough to post a number, Julie! I'll probably text you to see where you guys are at when I finally get out of school.

I'll be downtown in class and depending on what time our instructor lets us out, I'm going to try to meet up with you guys if I can figure out where you'll be. Keep me posted!

Elle: The last stop on the route I planned, Rossi's, is a lovely dive bar around Grand and State, a mere mile from the action at Grant Park. As explained in the FAQ, you do need a ticket to get into the part of Grant Park where Obama will address a crowd (those gates open at 8:30). But Mayor Daley has widely welcomed all to attend Grant Park and downtown Chicago that night; there will be at least one jumbotron set up in Butler Field; and the streets, sidewalks, and lakefront path are, as always, open to bike traffic.

The plan outlined above is intended to maximize my own safety and insobriety, but I imagine some on the crawl will want to cut the bar hopping short and rush down to Grant Park to be there circa 8:30/9. If that's the will of the mass I'll go with it too.

Julie: I'm sorry, I don't want to post my own cellie number to a public website, and I didn't think in advance to buy a disposable cell phone for this event. If you're willing to share your email address with me I'll be glad to email you!

The latest news about the event is here. I don't have a ticket, so I'm going to stick to the plan as described above. Look for us at Simon's during the 6pm hour or at Crew after 7. After that it will be harder to stay on schedule but you get the gist.

i'd love to get in on it - i may have to watch most of the madness at home, don't want to miss anything, but (if progress and sanity wins) i really would love to mass ride it to grant park to dance in the streets - if we, and our children, lose - i don't think i will leave my house for some time

is there a way that we will be able to grow the mass as it approaches grant park? how might we coordinate where and when to meet?
