Description

The derailleur assembly parties are back! We'll be cutting, stapling, and collating to help make light work of assembling the special art show edition of The Derailleur," an unofficial zine of Chicago Critical Mass." Break the Gridlock is helping organize and promote this monthly event as an evolution of last year's UnHappy Hours. It's a great chance to help, mingle and scheme with other grassroots transportation activists.

Let's plan a start time of 6:30pm at Ciclo Urbano, We'll be in the conference room, so people should come to the Ciclo entrance. Women's Night will be going on at WTB so it'll be occupied. Folks will have to knock on the Ciclo Door for entrance after 7pm.

Big thanks to willow, Lee, Steven and West Town Bikes/Ciclo Urbano

Break the Gridlock is a Chicago-based non-profit dedicated to supporting a vibrant network of grass roots activists and advocates who work to reduce dependency on the private automobile. It grew from the energy, dining room tables and bar stools of area transportation activists who met through Chicago's Critical Mass rides. We needed a name and a bank account so we could put on conferences and act as an umbrella for grassroots projects, such as Bike Winter (BTG currently acts as Bike Winter's fiscal agent), the Zoning for Transportation Equity Coalition and the Campaign for a Free and Clear Lakefront (ie Depave Lake Shore Drive). Contact info@breakthegridlock.org to learn more and get involved.
