Description

Dark Lord Day is the only day of the year to buy Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian imperial stout, described in the NY Times as "plain goodness". DLD is a festival where participants can meet other beer enthusiasts, sample beers from all over the world, buy Dark Lord, try Oak Aged Dark Lord, eat BBQ, listen to live music, and generally have a great time.

We'll leave the clock tower at 8:30, pick up South Siders at the 31st Street beach house at 9:15, take a short break at Wolf Lake, partake of Dark Lord Day, and return.

Going, we'll take the Daniel Burnham Centennial Century route, coming back, the traditional winter route.

This will be a "TOUR ride" with few stops. We won't necessarily stay together. Faster riders may go ahead, and slower riders may drop back.

Bring money, a lock, snacks to have en route, and panniers for Dark Lord you don't finish there.

And be prepared for rain...

Anyone interested is more than welcome to meet us at the brew pub if they don't care to participate in the bike ride.

Glad that worked out for you Robert. I'm now kicking myself for not going since the rain did hold off. I'm just hoping a friend will hook me up with a bottle from a friend he knew that went... and had a golden ticket... that I was supposed to buy! But anyways, good on ya for being able to make the trade!

eric, i want to thank you again for your tip, i carried a 1-liter swing-top bottle of the Sprecher czar brew Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout all the way there and did trade it for a DL. which i think i actually preferred to the oak aged, which surprised me.

So who's doing the ride rain or shine? Bringing extra clothes? Poncho? Umbrella?

Extra socks... at least?

Typically, CCC touring rides are 15-17 mph
