Chicago, Illinois/February 12, 2009---On Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Cheetah Gym, Andersonville a team of Spinning enthusiasts led by local Team Captain, Bill Eisentraut, will ride in the nationwide fundraising event, Spinning Nation ‘09.
Team Cyclists against Cancer will join over 100 teams across the nation riding as one nation to raise funds and awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Athletes for a Cure, a program of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Almost 700 participants have signed on to ride in Spinning Nation ’09 for many reasons: to celebrate, to honor, to raise awareness and to fight.
“I am excited to be leading a team of such enthusiastic and dedicated riders.” Said Bill Eisentraut, Team Leader. “We have planned a great afternoon of Spinning, fabulous dance music from the past four decades and four of the best Spinning instructors in Chicago.”
In its second year, Spinning Nation has partnered with two charitable organizations with complimentary causes to reduce overhead costs for a single fundraising event, which is one of the goals of Sportsgrants Foundation, the non-profit sports and fitness event production company producing Spinning Nation ‘09.
“This is really a grass roots effort. It all starts with people wanting to help those fighting cancer,” said Scott Zagarino, founder and managing director of Sportsgrants Foundation. “So they volunteer to lead a team in their hometown and Spin to raise funds and awareness.”
Spinning Nation 09 is sponsored by SPIN Fitness, Cheetah Gym, The Windy City Cycling Club and the Chicago Razors.
