Description

Since the dawn of man, gathering around the fire has provided survival and socializing.  In the depths of winter, we gather with friends after riding to fight the darkness and ennui.  Join British Bikes of Chicago as we proudly host the third Cozy Hearth Tweed Ride to help us get through it yet again.

The ride this year will not only be longer than 2.7 miles, but take us from Edgewater to Ukrainian Village.  Stops along the way each have a fireplace for the warming of toes, with boisterous conversation and friends aplenty.

Dig out your heavy woolens, hunting socks and snappy headwear to prevent frostbite.  No need for artificial fibers, as we aren't going windsurfing.

We do have a good time:

Well, I finally managed to get the film developed and I have the prints now. So, here goes some pictures from the ride.

The rear RSW16 tyre 'jumped' the rim just sitting on Owen's back porch overnight Saturday/Sunday. I now think the 16" x 2.125 kidz tyres were a bad fit, not that they looked it, and just slipped up & over the rim - the front tyre was then trashed by the rim running on the bead and crushing it, rather than it actually being a bead failure?

Cripes, Alan! Both tires crapped out on you? Glad you made it!

That was an excellent first Chainlink ride for me. There will be more for me in the future for sure.

Yipes Alan! That is a significant tyre problem.
