Description

Join us on Sunday, June 1st, for our 6th Annual Ride/Stride to Recharge.

Register to Ride, and cycle 4, 10, or 20 miles along the beautiful Lakefront Path.

Register to Stride, and walk 1.5 or 3 miles - also along the beautiful Chicago Lakefront.

Since 2009, people like you have helped raise over $400,000 - which has resulted in the funding of 15 solar panel arrays across 13 schools, in addition to 50 other schools based sustainability projects, such as pedal-powered classrooms, solar backpack kits, urban agriculture projects, and composting.

Equally important, since 2010 over 20,000 Chicago students have been reached through Climate Cycle’s school presentations, which teach students about climate science and sustainability, and what they can do to help address our shared environmental challenges.

We are also looking for volunteers to help this event run smoothly!

  • Ride Marshal - perform basic roadside bike repair for riders (experienced cyclists only)
  • Course Marshal - guide participants at key points along the route and cheer them on
  • Participant Registration - help participants check-in and get essential info
  • Volunteer Registration - help volunteers check-in and get essential info
  • Celebration Assistance – serve lunch, help us keep it green, and throw a great party
  • Rest Stop Assistance – hand out water to refresh participants at turnaround points
  • Body Work / Massage - provide on-site muscle relief and relaxation for participants
  • Pedal-Powered Stage - generate the power for our PA system by cycling a stationary bike - make this a fossil-fuel free event!

Also note: If you feel so moved, bring a noise maker, a sign, fun hat…or even dress in costume! Your creativity and humor will be much appreciated by all the participants.  (Please remember that this is a family event – so keep it rated G). A late lunch (around 3 pm) will be on us, and you'll get a t-shirt as well.
