Description

The best ride of the year!

Chicago Perimeter Ride leaves Buckingham Fountain at 9am for a day-long Critical Mass-style ride around the City and back again.

No registration fee, no support vehicles, no drops. Many miles, many sights, many transit bail-out points, not as many pee stops as we'd like.

The pace isn't crazy, but we do need to cover miles, so only come if you've been riding weekly/daily all summer. (Last year's ride was ~80 miles or so.) Carbon racing frames are NOT necessary, but a fixie or bmx will wear you out halfway through. Be able to carry water and some snacks and some more water.

Bring cash for food, what tools you can, and at least one or two spare inner tubes--one for you and one to share, there are usually a few flats. We won't leave you behind, but we can only do so much with a breakdown, so get your ride tuned up as best you can beforehand.

Most of the ride is in traffic, some streets are better than others. Get your ride tuned up soon. Water. Cash. Miles.
