A special thanks to the lovely Eboni Senai, a true gem in our city. Her work as the Founder of Red Bike & Green - Chicago is energizing bicycling culture in the African American community of Chicago. Also want to share a huge thanks with John Greenfield, Willow Naeco, and Steven Lane for their early, active, and consistent support of this effort.

We will meet up at 5:30pm on Friday, August 31st at the Picasso statue at Daley Plaza. Please join us for a beautiful ride through parts of the Southside of Chicago!

Peace y'all - Last night was a dream come true for me. And an awesome way to be welcomed home after living in Brazil for 6 months. 1000+ of my closest friends riding through the streets on the Southside of Chicago was an incredibly amazing experience. The love on the streets of the Southside was overflowing. We shared love and we received it back in multiples. I know in my heart that we energized biking on the Southside last night. We inspired people - young & old, active & inactive, the naysayers & the believers. We made an important statement last night. We proudly proclaimed that the City of Chicago is one city and biking is for everyone. We shouted loudly that we all deserve access to biking resources and the myriad benefits associated with those resources. The Pioneers Bicycle Club exist to get more Black folks and Southsiders riding in an effort to improve the health of our community. Our journey continues. A very special thanks to Eboni Senai and Red Bike & Green - Chicago. Eboni is doing the critical work of making biking cool and more Black folks in Chicago ride today as a result of her work and the work of RBG. It was indeed a pleasure for The Pioneers to partner with RBG on this effort. I especially want to thank John Greenfield for the encouragement to propose a Southside route for Critical Mass over a year ago. He has been a consistent supporter of the idea and happily did the work to make it happen. Thank you to Willow Naeco for enthusiastically supporting our route with prime real estate in The Deraileur Magazine. Thanks to Steven Lane for the early, active support and for promoting the route online. A big shout out and the tip of the hat to all the folks that loved the idea from the beginning and to all the folks that needed convincing. Together we put a dent in the universe, however small, a dent nonetheless. For this, I thank you deeply! - @theycallmeOboi
