Chicago Critical Mass bike rides start from Daley Plaza (Dearborn & Washington) at 5:30 p.m. (Leave around 6 p.m.) on the last Friday of each month, regardless of season or weather. They are free and fun. All you have to do is show up with your bike. The rides are family- and pet-friendly.
A Critical Mass is created when the group of riders take back the streets of our city. The right of the people to assemble is guaranteed in the Constitution and Critical Mass helps people remember that right. The Mass itself has no political agenda though -- no more than the people of any other community do. Critical Mass is open to all and it welcomes all riders to join in a celebration of riding bicycles. Why? Because bikes are fun!
Come join this fabulous parade on bikes!

Earth Mass 2 route is probably in the Derailleur, and most succinctly simply at http://MassUp.us until after Friday. There's also a KML and fly-through there.
Text MAP to ccm@massup.us for the flyer. Pre-ride last weekend was fine, incorporates several tweaks since 2009. This is the only CCM route I plan to field this year. Thanx for the privilege.
Weather may be near perfect spring Friday 6pm Sunny 57F 6ESE, 11pm PCldy 50F 8SE.
I try for simple routes, but sharper eyes than mine would help on several turns. And there're some long stretches, hence rager cager danger. Able facilitators encouraged please.
Gather in Daley Plaza
* As with 2009 I mapped N on LFT for end. I and some for sure'll move on that way, but many may dismount at Fullerton/lake. Either's fine, like 15 vs. 18 miles.
