For the April "Earth Mass", we are taking a global perspective to examine the role of grassroots activism in the development of modern bike infrastructure. Our Tale of Two Cities tour starts with the good, bad, and ugly of Chicago's streets as we head to Bridgeport to watch the documentary Aftermass: Bicycling in a Post-Critical Mass Portland. The director is in town, so we are hosting a film screening and discussion to compare and contrast the Critical Mass scenes on the Left and Mid Coasts. Join us.
With 17 years of Happy Fridays under our saddles, it's hard to understand why the police in other cities work so hard to stop Critical Mass, especially in Portlandia.
