Description

This bike ride visits the sites within the historic Bronzeville community that shaped Charles White, one of the leading artists of Chicago's Black Renaissance. It is led by Patric McCoy, a fourth generation Bronzeville resident, noted collector of Black art, and co-founder of Diasporal Rhythms. It is part of a weeklong celebration of Bronzeville legends hosted by the Boxville initiative, which also includes a talk by Timuel Black, a visit to the Charles White Retrospective at the Art Institute, and a 100 yr birthday party.
