Ever wanted to build your own bicycle from the ground up? "Build-a-Working Bike" is an 8 week course beginning Jan 24, 2011 that offers just that opportunity for beginning and intermediate bicycle mechanics.
Class will meet every Monday evening in the Working Bikes shop space at 2434 S. Western from 6pm-9pm. Participants will choose a bicycle from our warehouse space to fully refurbish. Over the course of the program we will go over everything from deciding on a bike that's right for you, changing tires, overhauling bearing assemblies, and truing wheels.
Upon completion, bikes can be bought for 50% of the working bikes selling rate with accompanying parts (upgrades are welcome, but will be priced accordingly).
When: Every Monday from Jan 24th - March 21st (8 weeks, with a week break for Valentine's Day) 6-9pm
Where: Working Bikes at 2434 S. Western
Tuition: $150 (+cost of bike, if buying)
