Description

Gain a comprehensive overview of bicycle mechanics in this 8 week Build-A-Bike course. This class will cover it all, including bottom brackets, headsets, hubs, wheel truing, brakes, shifters and derailleurs as well as finishing work and trouble shooting. There are many options for project bikes. You can use your own, borrow one from us or get something that needs a complete overhaul. Participants can get a lot of value out of the class by fixing up a bike of their own or a friends. The minimum donation for the class is equal or less then it would cost to have a shop perform the work.

People interested in registering should contact Michael Young (michael@westtownbikes.org or 312-656-1953). This class is limited to eight participants. Suggested minimum donation for this class is $200 (more if you can afford it, additional donations go to supporting community programs at WTB). Various payment arrangements are available.
