Description

Join Boy Scout Troop 14 at Cossitt Avenue School playground in LaGrange for our Spring Bicycle Drive and Fundraiser to benefit two groups that bring affordable, healthy and environmentally responsible transportation to both youth and adults in a safe environment here in Chicago.

The organizations that the troopʼs efforts will support are We Role Cycle Works and Growing Power Farms Chicago. For each bicycle you donate, we are also requesting a $10 donation to cover some of the associated repair expense. We will also be collecting tools, bike trailers and T-shirts that will be used in bicycle repair classes and as rags at the We Role bike shops to repair these bikes.

Your old bicycle, tools and T-shirts will provide much needed transportation to individuals participating in the after-school and job training programs offered by We Role Cycle Works and Growing Power.

A bicycle rodeo will also be held at the bike drive where we will teach bicycle safty and basic rules of the road to kids, teens and adults. Free bike safety information will be given to all participants. Basic bicycle repair classes will also be offered throughout the event.

The event will take place a Cossitt School, 115 West Cossitt Ave, LaGrange IL 60525 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Saturday, March 31st, 2012.
