Blood, Sweat & Tears (BST) is an annual charity bicycle ride benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and its Team In Training (TNT) endurance training program. Currently in its 8th year, BST was started and continues to be organized by TNT cycle staff and volunteers of the Illinois Chapter of LLS. In addition to the annual BST bicycle ride, these organizers have been coordinating and performing the support of weekly bicycle training rides for the TNT Cycle Team for over 10 years.
All proceeds from BST benefit LLS and TNT. LLS's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Each year has seen progressive growth both in the number of riders and amount of money raised.
BST 2010 will be held in beautiful Highland Park, Illinois in cooperation with the Downtown Highland Park Alliance on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010. We will have a new 100 mile (century) option! And, returning this year is the exciting 5-mile Family Fun Ride along bike paths in Highland Park. All other routes (25, 45, 62) are on paved roads. And of course, the rides will be well supported with outstanding food at each rest stop!
