PLEASE INVITE EVERYONE!
We are headed to see the Occupy Chicago demonstration outside of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago at Jackson and LaSalle to fight the corporate abuse of American democracy! One of over a hundred protests of its kind, echoing the initial protest of Occupy Wall Street in its third week right now. These are going on right now, this moment, nationwide! Worldwide! When's the protest? 24-7! And Sunday is Chicago's day 17!
Want to see what democracy looks like? Meet us at one of several places and hitch a (bike) ride:
*Fountain Square in Evanston at Sherman and Davis
*The Heartland Cafe in Rogers Park at Lunt and Glenwood
*Young Lincoln Statue at Ridge and Clark
*The Totem Pole along the Lakefront Path at Addision
(The group will stop ONLY VERY BRIEFLY at each of these locations.)
**Cellphone protip: TEXT the letter "W" to the email address "u@massup.us" (yes, text to the email address) to find out which of the locations have already been visited (with a time of when we left), so you can guesstimate when to expect the next stop. This is a leisurely, not speedy, 16mi bike ride that will likely take at least two hours.
Feel free to ride along even if you've been to see the protest before. The more people present to answer questions and gather riders, the better!
***Oh, and decorating your bike and/or bringing signs (see photos) would be good, but not CERTAINLY not required! It might be fun to circle the Federal Reserve (more than) a few times.
Googlemap! http://g.co/maps/mbs9nOccupy Chicago? WHAT'S THAT? http://occupychi.org/ @occupychicago #occupychiPHOTOS! http://bit.ly/pWM6Ew
Please, if you live on the northside (or whateverside), join us!
